2022 Reflections, Lessons and Highlights


At the start of the year we find ourselves bursting with excitement from the freshness of a new season. The atmosphere is filled with hope. People are setting goals, resolutions, and intentions. There is an expectancy of change and hope for the better.


2022 was the year I took a leap of faith to fulfill my destiny and live my calling. I listened to my heart and honoured my truth. The one word that would describe my year is courage!

The courage to honour my truth, the courage to take risks, the courage to love myself, the courage to feel pain and discomfort. The courage to navigate change. The courage to be my most authentic self, as best as I can.

I had an opportunity to reflect on my year a few weeks ago. I realised the highlights and lessons learnt; I also got the chance to give thanks. I want to pass this opportunity to you today, to take that moment for yourself.


Today I share with you 15 of the many lessons I learned, and my key highlights. I am also sharing with you the opportunity and resources for you to reflect on your year.

What does this reflection do?

Self-reflection gives you time to pause, in the middle of the comings and goings, you stop. According to a Harvard Business Review article[1],

"Reflection gives the brain an opportunity to pause amidst the chaos, untangle and sort through observations and experiences, consider multiple possible interpretations, and create meaning. This meaning becomes learning, which can then inform future mindsets and actions".

Journaling Workbook

Going through the worksheet you start by checking in with yourself. How were at the start of the year? How you are now? What lessons did you learn this year? Reflect on the highlights of your year, you are looking at what you would consider both highs and lows. In some of her teachings Louise Hay refers to everything in life being a teacher, this is an approach that has served me well as I look at certain life situations. Looking at the lesson in in our experiences proves helpful when the unexpected happens.
